Sleep Suit Comparison: ErgoPouch vs. Love to Dream

Mummy Confession: For the longest time, I have wanted to try both the ErgoPouch Sleep Suit Bag and the Love to Dream Sleep Suit. Well, I finally did!

Disclosure: I was not sponsored or compensated for my review here in any way, and the following opinions are my own. This post, however contains affiliate links from which I receive commissions for qualifying purchases. See my full disclosure policy for details.

Many Mums often complain about their children kicking off the blankets, and being cold at night. Sleeping Bags are a great option for little ones who do this. They offer the cozy feel of a blanket without needing extra layers. (Side note: The GroEgg is a great tool for determining what tog to use in a sleeping bag/suit and how to dress Baby for sleep). Sleep suits are like the option of sleeping bags, except they offer one difference: legs!

The main feature that stands out with these sleeping options for babies and toddlers is the fact that they have separated (or able to be separated) parts for the legs. So, if baby can stand or walk, they’re an excellent alternative!

Since these two options came out on the market, I have wanted to compare them, and see which one offers the best sleep for my sleep-resistant baby. After buying them, however, I can see that they are very different, and both great, baby products!

ErgoPouch Sleep Suit Bag (left) and Love to Dream Sleep Suit (right)

Size: The Love to Dream Sleepsuit is a size 12-24 month size size and the ErgoPouch Sleepsuit Bag is a size 8-24 months. They have been purchased for a child who is around 11Kg and over 75cm tall. He is currently in 12-18 month size clothing.

The Love to Dream Sleep Suit is available in sizes 6-12 months, 12-24 months, 24-36 months, and 36-48 months.

The ErgoPouch Sleepsuit Bag is available in sizes 2-12 months, 8-24 months, 2-4 years and 4-6 years sizes.

Length: Compare: They are generally a longer size to accommodate a range of ages. These suits are supposed to go to around a typical 24 month size.

As you can see, the Ergopouch sleep suit is longer. It is really good for those nighttime chills, but I was keen to get it off in the morning, because of the length (and it’s not quite pyjamas.) It will definitely last for a fair while, as my child’s legs may reach about halfway.

The Love to Dream sleep suit offers the ability to open the legs, and give longer use after the child has outgrown the suit. The design is more similar to a bodysuit or zipper pyjamas, and for a child who fits it better, is probably perfect for just wearing around in the morning as well as at night.

Material: Compare: Both are quality material, and they are made of mainly cotton for a soft feel and sensitive skin. They are both made in a way that allows for baby to not get overheated. Both of the sleep suits are 2.5 Tog Rating,

The Ergopouch Sleepsuit Bag Material

The ErgoPouch sleep suit bag is mainly cotton with a little elastane for the sides to stretch. Great for a baby with sensitive skin! It really feels quality, and I love the quilted like look that seems to keep baby warm. The ErgoPouch is available in different togs, so good for different weather.

The Love to Dream Sleep Suit Material

The Love to Dream Sleep Suit is 100% cotton with polyester filling and polyester mesh under the arms. It is quilted everywhere except the chest, to reduce overheating. I love the quilted feel, and it truly is cozy! The Love to Dream only comes in the 2.5tog (so far), but 2.5tog is good for a variety of seasons.

The Zippers &Buttons: Compare: One suit has three Zippers and a snap button, and one has just one zipper.

The ErgoPouch Sleep Suit Bag has three Zippers. The top zipper goes halfway from bottom to top. The other two give you the option to make it a sleeping bag or a sleep suit with two separated legs. The material at the top covers the zip, and it is secured with a snap button.

The Love to Dream Sleep Suit has one zipper that goes all the way from the top to the bottom. There is fabric to cover it along the top, and the fabric at the bottom allows you  tuck the zipper safely away. One zipper means less to deal with!

Sleeves: Compare: Both the suits are long sleeved which is a draw for me, as Baby often gets cold in the middle of the night.

The ErgoPouch Sleep Suit Bag has cotton-elastane arms which is different to the more heavy material of the suit, and the hands flip over, which is a giant plus. My little one scratches a lot, and this reduces the damage he can do with those little nails. He has managed to escape them though, so it’s not baby proof.
The Love to Dream Sleep suit has a cotton chest and arms with little polyester mesh under the armpits to help control temperature. This differs to the quilted material of the rest of the suit. The sleeves don’t fold over (at least not on this particular size), so we need to opt for socks over babe’s hands to keep him from scratching.

The Legs: Compare: They both have (the ability to) separate legs. They both have (the ability to create) enclosed feet and have treads on the sole of the sleep suit.

The ErgoPouch sleep suit offers the ability to be used as a sleeping bag, or to zip the legs separate. They are very roomy and baggy, with a fairly generous length for each leg.

If your child prefers a more snug feeling around their legs, the Love to Dream Sleep suit is more fitted around the bottoms of the legs, and the rest is quite roomy. It is similar to a bodysuit, with a lot more space besides the slightly fitted legs. The bottoms of the feet allow for you to flip the fabric over the foot to create a covering as well.

Mummy Confessions Scale for Sleeping Bags

ErgoPouch Sleepsuit Bag

Easy to put on: 4/5 – The sleeping bag configuration is easy to get on, regardless of the half zip. The sleep suit is a little harder, as I need to convince my child to put his feet on separate sides.
Stays on: 5/5 – No gaps or too big of space that makes it dangerous for sleep.
Easy to change baby in:4/5 – In sleeping bag mode, it is super simple, just needing to undo one zip, but if you have the legs, you need to unzip two Zippers.
Easy to take off: 4/5 – Quite easy. The sleeves make it a little more difficult, but not much, as they stretch!
Appropriate thickness for seasons available: 5/5 – They offer 3 options from 1.0tog to 3.5tog which have corresponding sleeve lengths.
Baby likes it? Loves it! He does get a little tripped up and frustrated since he is still small for it, but he has had better sleep with it.
Material: 5/5 – Great quality and warm!
Sizing: 5/5 – The selection for age ranges are great! I love that it goes up to size 6!

Love to Dream SleepSuit:
Easy to put on:4/5 – Sleeves always make it slightly fun, but otherwise, the full zip makes it easy to get on. Getting the zipper at the top cns be challenging with a wiggly baby.
Stays on: 4/5- Bubs would keep slipping his feet out of the legs and getting frustrated. Otherwise, if I folded the legs out, he was fine.
Easy to change baby in: 5/5 – the fact that the zipper goes from top to bottom means only one zip to deal with and no disturbing baby and trinf to wrestle everything back on!
Easy to take off: 5/5 – no issues at all!
Appropriate thickness for seasons available: 1/5- As far as I can tell, it is only available in 2.5tog which is a good middle range, but it’s the only option. This may be because it has just come on recently.
Baby likes it? He was excited to get it on, but frustrated with the legs if folded over, so we opted for rolling them up and using with socks until he fits it better.
Material: 5/5 – Love the quilting! Love the mesh under the armpits!
Sizing: 4/5 – The 4 sizes is a good range. Up to the age of four.

As far as choosing between them, I can honestly say that they are two different styles, so both great for babies and toddlers, as far as recommending goes, here is what I would say:

Ergopouch Sleep Suit Bag: The Ergopouch is great and plush. It comes in various togs, and the 2.5tog is a great middle (not too warm, not too thin) for autumn and early winter, or if you keep the house 20 degrees or so. You can obviously layer according to the temperature regardless, or choose a heavier or lighter tog, since the range is available. I would choose the Ergopouch for a baby or toddler who likes the feeling of a plush blanket or Doona, or prefers a little more room around their feet. If you need mittens, this has those to cover little hands and add that extra warmth (or protection from scratching). You can use it as a sleeping bag or sleep suit, and it is easy to do a nappy change in the middle of the night without too much disruption.

Love to Dream Sleep Suit: The Love to Dream is quilted and thinner feeling, but still warm and cozy. The one zipper means not too much fuss, and the top to bottom zip means no disrupting baby or toddler in the night to change. The feet flip over for extra warmth, and that means it can possibly be used longer, because the feet can be removed in that way. It’s snug around the feet and bottom of the legs and doesn’t feel like a blanket that bub may wish to kick around. The mesh under the armpits and different fabric around the chest helps for keeping baby or toddler from getting too hot. The pyjama-like design of the Love to Dream Sleep Suit means your child shouldn’t be too fussed to keep it on for a little while in the morning if needed. It resembles an oversized coverall jumpsuit.

I hope this comparison has helped show you the differences between these two very different Sleep Suits! Let me know if it has helped you choose or if you have gone out and bought one because of this review, too! I would love to know that I have helped in some way!

The Gro Company: GroBag & GroEgg ~ A Review and Overview

Mummy Review: I’m a light sleeper. My babies tend to be ones who roll around endlessly during their sleep hours, making it fun for anyone to keep them sleeping. We had the chance to try the Grobag and GroEgg together, and I’m hoping we’ve turned a corner in a bit more settled and easy sleep, as well as keeping with safe sleeping guidelines.

*Disclosure: I was gifted the Gro Bag and Gro Egg in exchange for my honest review and opinion. This in no way effects what I have written or think about these products. They have also answered a few questions about their products that I had asked below.

As you may have read, we have co-slept in the past, but as the littlest is now all over the place, he can no longer safely be in my bed. I needed to find a way for my baby to sleep safely and soundly throughout the night. When I was given the chance to review the GroBag and GroEgg, I jumped at the opportunity, as I hoped it would bring more sleep for me and for baby!

Enter the Gro Egg and the Gro Bag.

The GroEgg- A Thermometer & Night Light

The GroEgg is a nursery thermometer which changes colour to indicate temperature, and displays the temperature digitally as well. It comes with a guide as well on how to dress Baby according to the temperature an indicates ideal temperatures. This takes the guesswork out of wondering if baby is too hot or cold! It doubles as a nightlight!
The GroEgg is meant to be used alongside the GroBag, another Gro Company product, as the various togs of sleeping bags are tailored to various temperatures, and alongside to layers in accordance with temperature guidelines. There is a handy guide in the pamphlet as well as on their website for further help.

I found the temperature to be accurate, and have no complaints, as it did display properly as well as change colour according to the temperature. I found it great as a nightlight as well as the fact that I didn’t have to turn a light on in order to read the temperature (or even enter the room). I could just go by the colour displayed and adjust the temperature accordingly.

As well as the pamphlet inside that talks about the GroEgg, the Egg itself has the colour coding (which are logical choices for colours if you think about it) so you can tell what the range in which the temperature lies, and whether you need to alter it.

The GroEgg is powered by plugging it into an outlet. This does mean cords, and you obviously need to ensure you safely put it out of children’s curious reach. The plug, however, is not attached permenantly, but is removeable from the back. I would love if they offered a cordless option, but from my own experience with rechargeable cordless products, they can’t usually go all night without having to be recharged again anyways.

The GroEgg also comes with cute covers as well, if you prefer the look over just the egg shape. This is definitely a bonus if you are looking for something a little more like an animal shape.

2.5tog GroBag in a 6-18 months size

Upon taking this out of the packaging, I can feel this is made of quality material. The tog thickness is 2.5, so not too thin, but not too thick. Great for the autumn season. It also comes with a thermometer for the 0-6 months and 6-18 months sizes, and information of how to dress your child according to the temperature. So, if you don’t happen to have a GroEgg, you do have this thermometer. Though, it’s far easier to read the GroEgg, especially in the dark.

Guidelines for how to dress Baby for sleep on the back of the thermometer

The great this about this sleeping bag is that there is no need to use blankets or wonder if baby is warm enough. There is no frustration about your child kicking off the covers and being cold either.

In our experience with it, the sizing was quite generous, and the 6-18 month size fit my child who is in a size 1 as well as my child in a size 2 (but just barely). It helped a lot to regulate the temperature and baby slept a bit deeper because of it. When bub wasn’t teething, he slept very well through the night with minimal wake-ups which was refreshing for everyone! Even my other child loved how it kept her warm and cozy.

Our house was around 19-20 degrees at 2.5tog GroBag we needed a long sleeve shirt/onesie along with the GroBag itself. This did exceptionally well, and my baby had some nice sleeps. We have liked the GroBag so far, and are hoping in time, it will be a good part of his nighttime routine to indicate that it is time for sleep.

Adorable patterns available, like this one!

The Pattern– I absolutely love this adorable print, and I believe it is fairly unisex. The hot air balloons and animals is a clever print, and both me and my children were fans.

The Zippers– The GroBag has two zippers. It zips from top to bottom, not bottom to top like most baby products I’m used to! This means no pokey zipper bits on baby’s face! It also makes it easy to change. The second zipper at the bottom allows for you to have minimal opening when strapping a belt through when baby is in the pram.

Belt Hole in Back– A small slit which you can easily lace a pram belt through! Minimal opening, so less disturbing for a possibly sleeping bub! It velcros shut, so it’s not an issue when not in use as well.

Buttons at the bottom– To keep the zippers covered from prying fingers, or just out of the way, there is a little piece of fabric and some buttons to cover them.

Sleeveless Design– while I first thought, “why sleeveless when it’s more a transitional or winter suit?” It makes sense so that bub doesn’t overheat. You can layer their Grosuit or other clothing according to their guide on how to dress Baby. You can see the full answer to my question here.

Sizing– The size ranges for the GroBag is 0-6 months, 6-18 months, and 18-36 months. While the sizing may sound a bit ridiculous, it works well. My tall baby fits the 6-18 month size, and so does my middle child (who is a tiny thing way over 18 months). The sizing is generous, which is great, and means you have it last longer! (They even have a 3-6 and 6-10 year GroBag, but it isn’t currently in stock at the moment!)

Mummy Confessions Scale for Sleeping Bags-

Easy to put on: 4/5 – With a baby who just wants to go, it does get a tad difficult, but just because you need to get the zipper together at the top.
Stays on: 5/5
Easy to change baby in: 5/5 – The two zippers make it super easy!
Easy to take off: 5/5 – So simple!
Appropriate thickness for seasons available: 5/5 – They offer options from .2tog to 3.5tog
Baby likes it? So-so. He’s not a fan of sleep.
Material: 5/5 – Great breathable material, not too heavy,  but warm!
Sizing: 5/5 – The three size ranges are great, offering choice for various sized children…especially cool that they have up to a size 10 once stock is back!

Overall Rating of Gro Bag: I definitely rate this 5/5 overall, as all of the options for this Sleeping Bag definitely mean there is one out that that should work for your baby (if they like sleeping bags)!

Questions I asked The Gro Company:

Why does the GroBag have a sleeveless design?
We believe that Baby Sleep Bags should be sleeveless to aid heat loss and air circulation. (Babies sleeping under traditional blankets rarely sleep with their arms inside). The new British Standard also stipulates that Baby Sleep Bags should be “without sleeves or hoods”. In cooler weather, we recommend long-sleeve bodysuits, in addition to a long-sleeved pyjama top, pyjamas or a sleepsuit.

What else can I use with the GroBag and GroEgg?
You should use your Grobag instead of blankets and sheets. The only other bedding required is a bottom sheet. Grobags are designed to replace blankets and sheets. They come in three tog (warmth) ratings for your individual baby and the temperature of your baby’s sleeping place. Duvets, quilts and pillows should not be used for babies under 1 year old and never with a Baby Sleep Bag. The Lullaby Trust recommend that the safest place for your baby to sleep is in a cot or crib in your room for the first six months. Important: never use your Grobag Baby Sleep Bag with a duvet or quilt.

· Gro-Suit– The Gro-suit is intended for use with a Grobag in cold weather or in room temperatures of 18°C or under. They are most suited to be used with a 2.5 tog or 3.5 tog Grobag.
If your room is under 16°C and you’re using a 2.5 tog Grobag you should add a vest underneath your Gro-suit. However, if you’re using a 3.5 tog Grobag you only need to use the Gro-suit underneath.
If your room is under 14°C you should ideally look to increase the temperature of the room, or use a 3.5 tog Grobag, with Gro-suit and vest.
· Gro Friends (Please remove from a sleeping baby. Soft toys should not be left in a babies cot)
· Gro Egg Shell
· Gro Muslins
· Gro Light
· Gro Anywhere Blind

Which tog do you recommend for which seasons (or where can I find that information)?
We recommend choosing the tog per temperature of the Nursery which is how our Grobags work hand in hand with our Groegg Nursery thermometer product.

We then have our What to Wear Guide available on our website for further assistance on how to dress your little one during sleep.

My Little Love Heart: Review

Mummy Review: I’ve always loved boutique styles, and having something that is a unique style! I also love supporting local businesses and mums, so this is a win, win!

Disclosure: Some of these products were given to me in exchange for my honest opinion. I liked them so much, I bought more .

My Little Love Hearts is a boutique style shop for a range of accessories for babies, handmade in Australia. Their line of products includes bibs, hair bows, and teething rings. I have reviewed the products below which I have received and also purchased a couple more, in addition to the lovely presentation of how it arrived in the parcel!
Firstly, though, I just wanted to give some insight into the maker of these great products and what inspired her to create this brand, as well as her aspirations and personal favourite items. 🙂
(I will also be editing this post and putting better photos in once my little model will stand still)

What inspired you to start My Little Love Heart?

My interest in baby apparel and accessories, specifically bandana bibs, began after my daughter Natalia was born. As she was prone to reflux we started to go through a large amount of baby bibs. I found it very difficult to find products of the highest quality with modern and stylish patterns so I started making them myself.

What is your favourite product?

I would have to say I have three favourite products, firstly the Love Heart Teething ring as this is my own idea and design, it also represents what my brand is all about ! The second would have to be the bandana bib, this would be my most popular item and I love the feedback I get from customers. The third favourite would be the burp cloths, as they use the most fabric I really get to enjoy the detail on the wonderful patterns.

Are you working on anything that you’re excited about (new product, new styles, new designs, etc)?

Last month we just finished our first collaboration with Perth designer Megan Isabella Designs. She has developed the Succulents and Cactus print exclusively for My Little Love Heart. We love that it is a print that boys can wear as there are very few options for the little guys these days. We will also be adding 2 more fabrics in the coming months, once again something for the boys !

What is a goal you have for the future of your business?

I enjoy making these products and would love to increase the export side of the business through retail outlets around the world, especially my birth country of Colombia. It would be an amazing feeling walking into a shop in another country and seeing my products sold there.

This is the beautiful parcel I received from My Little Love Heart. I must say, the care that went into this presentation is lovely!

Need a nice gift? Your order comes nicely wrapped and ready to go (See photo at the top of the post)! this attention to detail is such a great touch!

Regular Bib
The Bibs made by My Little Love Heart are made in two sizes and has two plastic buttons to adjust to a proper size as well. Backed with towelling, it’s not thin and soaking through easily. I would say my baby is a medium level drooler, and I haven’t had an issue with it soaking through too quickly. Obviously, I take it off during naps, and let it dry.

I recommend the cactus and succulent pattern for its pure awesome look. I was overjoyed to receive this bib, and it sure is helping us have less wardrobe changes during the day, while still maintaining a fashionable look. I have gotten a ton of compliments on this bib, and just adore the pattern!

Baby boy’s outfit of the day, paired up with his super cute bib!

Bandana Bib
I love the style of the bandana bibs! For my boy especially, it makes him look even more handsome, and covers him under and around the neck. It is also backed with towelling and  keeps his neck dry. This is good, because my bub’s neck is particularly sensitive as he is prone to eczema. The bandana bib also comes in two sizes and has two buttons for adjustment within the size. My little one was lucky enough to try one out in the lovely feathered pattern. I have washed it a few times, as the drool is strong with my baby, and I have no complaints. It’s still just as cute and great for bubs to wear!

My model wasn’t being cooperative, but this bib matches nearly everything!

This particular style I have never seen before, and I think it is quite innovative in its design! After finding this style online, I had to order one! Bub is always losing his dummy (pacifier to those not fluent in Aussie) and this design allows me to keep it close. The best part is not needing an extra dangly bit to clip on, hoping my baby won’t rip it off minutes later. You can also attach teething toys!
It works best with dummies or teething toys that have a bit of space, and just fits one of my bubs preferred pacifiers. Bubby was putting his own dummy back in easily, and I didn’t have to search the whole house for it!

Snaps for different neck adjustments and the snaps to clip a pacifier or toy

Only one issue I would have with it is that, obviously, I cannot attach any other pacifiers that my babe prefers to it, as they would need a string attached to lace through the hole (which is a simple fix, anyways). Otherwise, this is a totally brilliant idea, and I’m stoked to have this in his wardrobe!

Bunny Teething ring
These eco-friendly Beech Hardwood teething rings are particularly lovely to look at, and I think the patterned moustache pattern makes it so cute! It comes in this handy little bag, so a beautiful little touch I appreciated! I’ve always loved this style of bunny ear-ed teething rings! I had to order one for my little man, as he is experiencing the dreaded teething, and everything is in his mouth. This ensures that he’s not crawling around and shoving things the other kids have left out in for amusement, but playing and chewing on this instead. Even better, his bandummy easily clips on to this, so it’s not getting lost! Little man is still getting used to it, but so far seems to be enjoying this one!

As you may know, I just love talking about great baby products, so out of these, I would highly recommend the Bandummy if you have a bub with a pacifier or teething toy they are attached to. Baby Bjorn Carrier One Outdoors: A Complete Review

Mummy Review
: As a smaller person, carrying a baby in-arms gets exhausting easily. A good carrier for long trips is essential if I don’t have a pram.

Mummy Confession Rating

The Baby Bjorn Carrier One Outdoors is a carrier for newborns up to children the age of three. It is described as the perfect carrier for family days out. I had the chance to try it out indoors, outdoors, and on an adventure through a torrential downpour. I have described a few of the features of the carrier below, as well as how I found this specific feature to work personally. I have also included pictures of each feature so it is easy to find.

Multiple Carrying Configuration

: The Carrier One Outdoors is a 4 position carrier, allowing for inward front carrying, in addition to special newborn height position, back carrying, and front carrying outward facing as well. It is approved and tested as a, “hip-healthy baby carrier” by the  International Hip Dysplasia Institute.^Baby Bjorn, Bjorn, baby, baby carrier, carrier, babywearing, soft structured carrier, carry them close, back carry

I could place both my giant infant (10kg) and my tiny toddler (under 15kg) easily into the carrier facing towards me, and my toddler into the back carry position as well. I had to ensure I adjusted the carrier appropriately to take the weight off of the shoulder straps and place them more on my hips. Once I did this, it was a lot easier to manage.Baby Bjorn, Bjorn, baby, baby carrier, carrier, babywearing, soft structured carrier, carry them close, back carry, front carry

My infant thoroughly enjoyed front facing in the front, but it did make it a bit harder on my back, because he wouldn’t stop kicking. I believe it’s recommended  not to front face them for too long, as it puts more pressure on your back as well as provides no escape for bub from overstimulation. I found about fifteen minutes was decent. At the same time, my back didn’t feel strained like in other carriers with a different, less supportive configuration.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Its fairly easy to adjust from forward facing to back carrying as well, which is a nice change from trying to do this with other carriers. (The video at the bottom is a bit better at showing how to go from forward carrying to back carrying)

Adjustable Bits

Do you know why I love adjustable things? It’s because of the height and build difference between my husband and I. We can both easily wear this carrier with nearly a foot height discrepancy and differing builds. Check out all these parts that make it comfortable to wear for both baby and the person carrying the little one.

Zipper Adjustment For Small Baby and Big Baby/Toddler: Until I read into it, I discovered there was a zipper that I needed to move in order to fit my larger baby into the carrier comfortably. I may have tried to fit my large infant with the newborn insert and wondered why it was so hard. So, just be sure you set the right zipper up before squeezing baby into the carrier! Zippers are well labelled as to the requirements for use, so just unzip from the indicated space and zip to the required size. For tiny newborns, there is also a button and loop to attach on the outside for more cozy carrying.

I use the bottom zipper indicated for a larger infant

Adjustable waist and clip: I found this little detail of the hook for the waist clip completely brilliant! No fussing around with buckles or trying to push together two bits and not able to reach the back to close it properly. One easy hook, adjust the waist properly with the belts, and you’re done. Simply face the mesh portion towards your body, slip the carrier over your head and against your chest, and you are good to get baby fitted into the carrier.

Everything about this carrier lets you adjust to your proper fit and comfort. The thicker fabric, with a similar style to the belt, allows you to pull to adjust the shoulder straps. The black portion on the shoulder strap is actually a place to adjust the carrier around your shoulder blades. The black bits slide up and down along the lanyard-style adjuster (as seen in photos). This black strap that goes across your back also adjusts by pulling the black strap to the most comfortable tightness.

Quick release clips: The carrier has four clips which easily attach to secure Baby into the carrier, and also make for a nice and easy quick escape in case you need to put down a sleeping baby, or unload a child after carrying them through a rainstorm. I love this feature, because it means I can transfer a still-sleeping baby from carrier to cot much easier! Anything that makes it easier for mum is amazing!

The clips quickly release for easy and quick use

Some positions require you to unzip the bottom like so

Bottom Zipper (for use in certain carry positions)
Sometimes you need to unzip the bottom of the carrier for certain positions (Such as forward facing while wearing baby on the front position). Please refer to the carrying positions guide in the carrier for the appropriate use of these zippers.

Baby Bjorn Teal Strap (for Forward Facing)
Pull on the Baby Bjorn labelled teal strap when forward facing your baby, so they are more comfortable see and their face isn’t covered. I discovered this after wondering why it wasn’t more tailored to facing forward. Upon investigation, this definitely comes in handy. Silly me!

The materials used in this carrier are great! They make a beautiful, breathable and soft carrier for both baby and mum (or anyone else using it)! Here are some of the highlights!

Place baby in the mesh portion of the carrier, leaving mesh between you and baby for a comfortable carry

Breathable Material: The mesh fabric used is great for keeping sweating from Baby wearing to a minimum, and keeping baby cooler. I love the mesh between bubs and whomever is carrying, as that will help with the cooling as well! I found it was great for the warmer weather we have been having, it kept bub and mum both cool enough.

Easy to Wash: Though the fabric is good for repelling dirt and easy to wipe clean, the website says that it can be washed at 40C and dries quickly.^ This is great, because you don’t need your carrier out of commission solely to wash!

Quickly Dries: This material also makes it a lot quicker to dry than the conventional Carriers. I have proven this in my experience through a downpour. The material did repel a bit, so mum and bub weren’t as wet from the carrier as well as the rain itself! It took a few hours to dry before I would wear it again, even in the muggy weather.

Soft, Comfortable, Beautiful Fabrics: One of the first things I noticed- it’s so soft! The gorgeous turquoise colour is a big plus as well! I believe this one comes in either black or turquoise. Though I’m usually in favour of the darker colours, the turquoise is beautiful, and did I tell you it’s soft?! My husband agrees the colour isn’t too feminine or masculine for either mum or dad to wear it. I am personally of the opinion that dads look much better baby wearing. 😜

Handy “Extras”

(I haven’t found in other Carriers)
I love all the great things in just the carrier itself, but in addition to that, you also get these included (and two are part of the carrier itself). I found these all useful!

Baby bjorn

Storage/Carry Bag: The first thing I realised removing it from the box is that it comes inside a bag! This makes it so much easier to take along in case you decide to pack it away, it’s easy to do! I was glad it wasn’t an option extra, as I remember needing to find something to carry my Ergo along with us.

Pocket for keys, phone, etc: Another feature that popped out to me was the pocket, which isn’t directly behind baby’s back like other carriers I’ve tried. It’s a separate pouch on the belt of the carrier. It can move around the belt, and be used to hold th excess belt as well. It is made of the same lovely fabric as the outside of the carrier.

Pocket for Instructions/Handy Instructions: Get this, there is a tag with the instructions for the positions the Baby Bjorn Carrier One Outdoors offers! This tag tucks into a handy pocket on the carrier, so, for people like me who get flustered at figuring things out, we’ll have somewhere to look. Such a great idea! I found it especially handy to figure out when I needed to unzip the bottom portion or how to figure the newborn/baby zipper.

Overall, I found that I loved this carrier, and really enjoyed all the features! I was thoroughly impressed with the ease of putting it on, as well as taking it off. My infant now gets excited when he sees this carrier- I’m not kidding! Plus, it has made getting him to sleep a whole lot easier, with less struggle.

I have rated the carrier according to my Mummy Confessions Scale here for a quick glance synopsis:

Overall Carry Rating: 4/5 for me, a short person with average build.
Ease of Use: 4/5 as it took me a little looking around to get the hang of it. It’s fairly straight forward though.
Little Baby Rating: Unable to judge, as I don’t have a tiny baby.
Baby Carry Rating: 4/5 as it’s fairly easy to even get a squirming baby in, it is comfortable and supportive
Toddler Carry Rating: 5/5 for front Carry while facing inwards.
Back Carry Rating: 3.5/5 as I can’t quite manage to get it easily from front to back carry as described, but I’m sure with practise it will be fairly easy.
Baby Sleep Rating:5/5 Baby fell asleep in this  nearly every time I put him in, big plus for the terrible sleep cycle we have been at lately!
Features: 5/5 There are so many!
Sit Down Rating: 4/5 You can sit at a slight incline, but you need to support bubs head a little.
Transfer Rating: 5/5 It is super easy to remove baby and try to keep them sleeping if you need  quick escape, or to get out in th middle of a rainstorm and into the car.

Daddy Rating:

I personally like the ease of use, build quality and the features of the Baby Bjorn Carrier One Outdoors. It’s also comfortable to wear, and judging by my babies reactions, comfortable to be carried in.

Baby Bjorn have come pmwith another great product.

I give it 5/5 😀.

Munchkin Products Review

munchkin, won, prize, review, baby products

Its been a long time coming, but we won these as a part of an Australia Day Giveaway with Munchkin, so I thought it would be great to tell you about them and what we thought. This has not been sponsored by Munchkin and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Munchkin, sippy cup, cup, toddler product, product review

Click Lock Bite Proof Sippy Cup

This great sippy cup has been thrown, dropped, tipped, and knocked over multiple times in the period that we have owned it. So far, it has stood the test of time! This cup comes with 100% leak proof guarantee, and I will say that I have never known a cup to have that guarantee as of yet.

The Click lock means it makes an audible “click” when it is properly put on, so better than trying to thread and turn, hoping it has locked enough to prevent spills. The plastic form is easy to grip with the bumps on the outside, and it’s easy to tip and sip. It’s fairly easy to clean, and no parts to have to disassemble. Another great thing about this, is that you can buy replacement spouts for this cup, to continue using for a longer time! This cup is also top-rack dishwasher safe according to the Munchkin website.

Bathtime Duck

The first thing I noticed about this duck that is different to any other I have bought is that the hole in the bottom is sealed. Sealed! To those who have experienced mould issues with bath toys, this is a huge bonus on a small toy! No need to hot glue this one closed, or worry about health issues because of hidden mould.

The sealed part at the bottom is actually a temperature gauge, too! It says “HOT” when the water is too hot, or stays blue if it’s cool enough. Sure, it doesn’t squeak or spit water, but honestly the whole draw of this is that it’s a duck. My bubs loves just splashing around with this toy and chewing on him. I was super impressed about the sealed hole, and it’s dual purpose! This was an instant favourite in the house!

This inflatable bath for bubs is so great for my baby keen to sit, splash, and not fill up the entirety of the bathtub. Not to mention, it’s especially adorable, easy to deflate and pack away (unlike those giant baby baths), and simple enough to put into the big bath or keep out separately. My small bathtub easily accommodated this squishy yellow bath, and it’s honestly perfect for the stage we are in right now. I should have used it sooner, as it would have saved my arms and back reaching over the tub to keep my baby upright.

My baby is about the size of a one year old, and fits perfectly inside, but he’s not squished. It’s cushioned and the bottom of the inside is textured, so it makes a great transition bath between the big tub and baby bath, or just use it as a baby bath! There is a suction cup on the bottom for securing it in place in the tub, on the floor, or sticking it to the shower wall for storage if you don’t want to deflate it.

This also has the “white hot” blue dot that turns white and indicates “HOT” if the water is too warm for baby. My bubs loved splashing around in this, and I can tell this will be a favourite! One negative is that it doesn’t come in a size big enough for me to fit 😜

Fresh food feeder, munchkin, munchkin brand, baby food, food safetyFresh Food Feeder

I had a similar one for my first baby, and love the concept of this product! Put in various fruits, foods, cooked vegetables, or even a cube of breast milk for those pesky teething problems. It’s great for the exploration of new foods with the security of knowing they can’t swallow giant chunks. It’s easy enough to clean, and no parts to take apart, or places for food to get trapped that I can tell. It also comes with a plastic cover so you can contain the mess, or bring it with you for later.

My baby loved the simple grip, and though he’s not big on any food at the moment, he enjoyed testing the flavours and squishing the mesh to get a proper feel for the food inside. Obviously this is not a mess-free product, but it is a lot less messy than handing your child a banana (trust me)! I also, again, love that it prevents bub from taking sizeable bites that could see them choking. We intend to use this for our fruits and cooked veggies as bub explores the world of food. Pair with a quality bib for best results!

Miracle 360 degree Cup

Amazing! This isn’t your typical sippy cup. I used to have another brand with a similar idea, which claimed to be no-spill and foolproof, but my then 9-month old managed to flip it upside-down and soak the carpet. Totally unimpressed mother. I have since been skeptical of any of these so-called “just like a cup, but no-spill” since. Let me tell you, this cup has been tossed around, flipped upside-down, and it hasn’t spilled! Not a drop! I am really astonished with whatever technology went into this cup, and my kids love it! There is now fighting over it, because it is that cool.

The great part about this cup is also that they can drink from any side of it, like a normal cup, so it gives great practise for little lips, without the worry of water everywhere. It is fairly easy to clean, and is top-rack dishwasher safe according to the Munchkin website. This cup also comes in a handled form and stainless steel (which looks pretty neat). Pretty cool options to have, and a good quality. So, plenty of options for toddlers of all stages!

Snack catcher, munchkin, munchkin brand, toddler products, review, product review

Snack Catcher

I had one of these with my oldest, and still use it to this day. I purchased it in the US while I was out that way, so it is essentially the same. I’ve found this one to be great, because spills always happen with little ones when they grab a fistful of snacks from anywhere. It’s a little hard for the smaller toddlers to get their hands into, but in that, it seems to lessen the amount that they can grab (and therefore spill) out of my child’s hands as she grabs her snack.

The top keeps it inside during a bumpy car ride, and the handles are great for kids to keep a grip on it. If I happen to put it into the nappy bag, it stays contained within reason (obviously crumbs can escape and I don’t recommend tipping it upside-down and shaking it furiously). It does stay fairly spill-proof besides that though! So much better than an open plastic container! And no need to pass back and forth for me to open it up for them. The lid is fairly easy to remove, and I haven’t (yet) had the issue of my child removing it, which is great. Easy to wash, and top-rack dishwasher safe, according to the Munchkin website.

These products were all great, and my kids have loved every one of them. I would definitely recommend these to anyone in the market for products along these lines, especially that inflatable duck tub…the best! I will say I am jealous of the range on the United States website for Munchkin products, and I hope to be able to find a lot more of it in stores or online!

I hope this helps someone who may be eyeing products and wondering what they are all about. Munchkin has a great range, and I would say these are some very awesome products!
Feel free to check out their website with all their great products here. This is a US website, and I don’t believe they ship to Australia, though, but most of these products can be found in grocery stores, department stores, or baby stores.
