Life Update: Round 2

Mummy Confession: Sometimes life gets busy. That’s where I am right now.

So much is happening here, and is having a bit of an impact on the Blog, as you see a bit less being posted lately. I apologise, as it’s just gone a bit crazy over here!

Sickness after Sickness…

My babies seem to be on the never ending carousel of illnesses as winter powers on here. As we know, the common cold is a pit of misery, and a cough on top is even more miserable. Multiply that by three and add in a Mum and occasionally Dad who are sick, too, and you get the equation for nothing getting done. Between snuggling miserable kids, wiping the eternal nose faucets and trying to keep up with everything in the house at the same time– Blogging takes the back burner.

Speaking of cooking…

Mummy Confessions has to apologise that the Meal Plan Monday posts hasn’t been going up the past weeks! First, it was because I was working hard on The Great Australian Nappy Review of 2017 with Mumma Morrison and failed to get it up. Secondly, I’ve been working on another great feature and reviews of meal options for Aussies, too.

In addition to all of that, I’m also working on something that may appeal to the breastfeeding mums, but that’s as much as I’ll say for now! Great things to come!

As far as life goes. It’s all about the kids…

Littlest has me on my toes as always! And they say after a couple kids, it’s all smooth sailing! However, he is the most challenging in regards to sleeping, eating solids, and teething. Little Prince has gone in for allergy testing and come out as milk, egg, white fish, nut, and dust mite allergic (for the things they tested for), so we are proceeding with caution with an already picky eater. However, we have had some great little victories! His eczema is still random and pretty bad most of the time, so we are on the case of trying to figure out how to help him there. It may come to me cutting out his allergies from my diet, since he still breastfeeds a bit (but for now I have been told to hold off on doing this.
Since he has issues with eating, we are also seeing a dietician, and we had our first appointment in the past month. I’m really encouraged by our dietician and working with him in the strategies she’s suggested. We will be letting him just play with purées and hope some gets into his mouth, keep feeding foods he will eat but not pushing them, and offering different things for him to practise his chewing skills.

Middle has been doing great with toilet training and we are still working on nights, but our plan for now is just to use nappies/pull ups for nighttime and transition out when she stays dry consistently overnight. If it doesn’t happen soon, we’ll work on other strategies (but for now, she’s still young). She has also enjoyed testing out most of the sleepwear that was sent for the littlest, because they are practically the same size!

Oldest has been signed up for big school, and yes, I did cry and have been very emotional about this lately. I can’t believe the big one has grown so quickly! If you have any tips or posts that relate to helping mum when their kids grow up too quickly, feel free to Share! Biggest has been doing great in the bunk bed and just doing everything to grow up way too quickly.

As for me…

I’m just trying to blog, keep up with my house and trying to get out there and socialise with other mums and bubs! We recently had a trip to the snow, so I would love to have time to sit and write about that! My family’s been investigating some new play spaces and rocking the weekends together now that the weather is starting to warm up! Hopefully we can share more about that soon!

So, what have you been up to lately? Any “small” victories or big wins? I would love to hear how you are going!

Motherhood is a blessing, there is no denying it can also be stressful at times. But no one is perfect. Everyone has limitations. No one can do it all.

Reading this reminds me of talking with my daughter. Her days are like your filled with diapers, potty training , feeding kids, laundry and the other million and one things going on. Hope the kids all get to feeling better.
