The Royal Australian Mint: Country-Wide Scavenger Hunt!

Mummy Confession: I am guilty of being a tap-n-go mum!

How many mums have limited their amount of physically taking out notes and coins in this modern age of convenience and the availability of “tap-n-go”? I can say that I am certainly guilty!

With even the ability now to “tap-n-go” on those little electronic bribery tools in the shopping centre (some call them ride-on cars), we are in an age of being slightly unaware of what is even in our bank accounts.

I was able to attend an event announcing the country-wide scavenger hunt for three special release coins in Australia– with the chance to win a family trip to the mint in Australia in 2019. Celebrating 35 years of the dollar coin in Australia, this is a truly epic adventure to take with your children- to explore saving, collecting, and spending coins. What a great opportunity to pass on the need to understand the value of a dollar, and help your child to understand that money doesn’t grow on trees!

How it Works:

There are three special coins you are on the lookout for, include a small “A” , “U”, or “S” on the Kangaroo side of the coin with a much smaller “35″ in celebration of their 35 years in production. Be sure to check every dollar you save and spend now, because the result could be big!

What You Could Win:

When you find the three coins together, you need to enter the draw on their website! You have the chance to win several great prizes!
5,000 Winners will win an Australian Dollar Discovery PIggy Bank to continue to collect and save your dollars!
250 Winners will receive $150 gift vouchers to spend on any Royal Australian Mint product.
Just 8 Winners will receive an experience for four. Including a VIP tour of the Royal Australian Mint where you will create your own 1 kilo pure silver coin – which will be only one of 8 created! Your adventure will end with two nights at the luxury accommodation of Jamala Wildlife Lodge. This trip includes return flights, too!
